For 100 years, the Union League Boys & Girls Clubs have served the after-school development needs of Chicago’s disadvantaged youth. Today, ULBGC provides programming centered on academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles to nearly 15,000 youth at 11 locations in these challenging communities of Pilsen, Humboldt Park, the Near West Side, Englewood, Bucktown, and South Lawndale in addition to a summer camp. Each summer, thousands of Club members venture to Salem, Wisconsin for a fun- and education-filled time at our 247-acre residential summer camp.
The 11 Club locations offer programs such as homework help and tutoring, arts-focused instruction, sports and physical activity, STEM instruction and robotics, and critical mentorships. Youth also receive a hot meal every day and in 2019 we served over 300,000 meals. With each day structured with a comprehensive rotation of programs, Club members experience a well-rounded approach meant to enhance their learning and growth as individuals during after-school hours.
